Week 1A coaching inn in the English countryside, The Red Lion is rooms, a restaurant, and the quiet ritual of arriving somewhere considered. The brief was not to reinvent it, but to photograph it the way it feels at five in the afternoon.
A historic inn whose interiors carried more weight than its imagery did. The visuals had grown polite and platform-led, rooms shot like listings, food shot like menus. The work needed to remind guests of the feeling of staying there.
Editorial creative direction, shot on location across the inn. Warm low light, considered styling, restraint over reach. Each frame composed for the rituals, breakfast in bed, an afternoon book, dinner by the window, rather than the rooms in isolation.
A library of editorial imagery that carries the inn into print, social and paid without flattening it. Bookings feel earned, not announced. The pictures look like the place, quiet, English, considered.
A focused list of what JUDE™ shaped for The Red Lion, creative direction and on-location photography for a coaching inn that is, above all, a place.
"The work isn't to make the inn look bigger than it is. It's to show how it actually moves, the coffee, the curtains, the half-finished book, the bowl of pasta, at the hour when the light is at its best."
